  • Preservation of shine
    All our jewelry has been treated with a technique that helps prevent tarnishing, but it's still important to follow our care instructions. Jewelry can lose its shine over time when exposed to the elements. At CODEONE, we recommend removing your jewelry before going to sleep, showering, or engaging in any physical activity. Exposure to certain chemicals or environments (sweat, perfumes/colognes, cleaning products, chlorine, salt water, silver polish, etc.) can damage your jewelry.
    • Cleaning your jewelry
    To clean your jewelry, we recommend mixing a little soap with lukewarm water and gently scrubbing the item with a soft toothbrush. If dirt persists, repeat the process in clean water. Important: Gold-plated pieces require extra care. Rubbing vigorously can cause the plating to wear off, so it's important to clean gently to avoid damaging it.
    A cloth specifically designed for polishing silver is a great tool for restoring the shine to your jewelry if it has tarnished over time. However, this technique will not remove any scratches or dents the piece may have.

    • How do you store your jewelry?
    Your jewelry should always be stored away from direct sunlight and heat, ideally in a padded jewelry box or a tarnish-resistant pouch. You can also store it in individual resealable plastic bags. Never use rubber containers, as these will accelerate tarnishing and likely cause the pieces to turn black. Never store your jewelry in a bathroom or any other humid environment.
    Please note that our boxes are not designed to keep items in perfect condition for extended periods of time, as they are not airtight containers and color alteration may eventually appear with lack of use.
    • Important note:
    We do not guarantee that the gold plating on our pieces will last forever. Gold-plated items are inherently more fragile and susceptible to tarnishing over time. The rate at which this tarnishing occurs depends on several factors, such as the use of chemicals on the skin, the level of perspiration, and even the individual's skin pH level. For this reason, it is especially important to take proper care of your gold-plated jewelry.
